Neighbors Helping Neighbors (NHN) is a local service organization founded in 2020 and designed to serve those in need in Greene and Putnam Counties. Specifically, NHN helps those in need of a hand-up, NOT a handout.
Who We Are.
What We Do.
NHN’s focuses on one-time critical need home repairs, repairing or replacing a primary vehicle for families, and Beds for Kidz, a program created to provide beds for kids who don't have a bed of their own. NHN primarily serves older adults, children, single working mothers and their children, military veterans, developmentally and/or physically challenged individuals, and low-income families.
How We’re Making An Impact.
In its short time in existence, NHN has built and delivered hundreds of beds to kids in need, completed a multitude of home projects, and repaired or replaced a several vehicles.
Vehicles and Vehicle Repairs
NHN assists in providing vehicles for families that have no other source of transportation within their household. Whether it’s providing a vehicle or assisting with a vehicle repair, our mission is to provide reliable transportation for families to commute to school and work.
Home Repairs and Improvements
One-time home repairs and improvements are offered to those who show a need. We work with local individuals, school systems, charitable organizations, churches, and government organizations to identify specific, one-time, quality-of-life-changing needs.
Beds for Kidz
The Beds for Kidz project delivers beds to children without a bed ensuring that every child in the lake area has a comfortable and safe bed to sleep in every night.
