“I always hear people talk about "giving back". That's not my motivation. I believe in doing the right thing because it's right not because of what has been done for me. If I can help these people, I will do everything in my power to do so. NHN is the tool for me to be able to help those who cannot help themselves.”

"Neighbors Helping Neighbors does an exceptional job of reaching out to children and families in our community who need a hand-up, and because of that I've made my involvement in NHN a high priority in my life.”

“I am proud to be a part of Neighbors Helping Neighbors and work with outstanding colleagues who have servant’s hearts for those in need in our community. We work together as a team to help those with critical, one-time needs—needs that aren’t able to be fully addressed by any other organization in either Greene or Putnam County.”

“I am involved with Neighbors Helping Neighbors because we have an immediate impact and improve the lives of the people we serve. This quote sums up my feelings: ‘Helping one person might not change the world but it could change the world for one person.’ - Anonymous.”

Neighbors Helping Neighbors has captured my passion for helping those who are struggling in their daily lives. People in need can feel more comfortable, hopeful, successful and safer with simple things such as a child having its own bed, a solid roof over their heads, a functioning bathroom or a repaired car to provide transportation to school, work or doctors. NHN does that and that’s why I’m proud to be part of this organization.

I joined NHN because I believe children need three things to be successful: basic nutrition to survive and flourish, a great education, and a place to rest and recharge. At NHN, we’ve taken on the challenge of helping children recharge—knowing that the family, as a unit, also needs assistance to support that child’s success. That’s why offering a hand up through home repairs and transportation is essential in helping those who have been less fortunate. I am proud to say that “we” at NHN are working to make a significant difference in our community. I hope others will choose to join us by becoming a member or donating to this fundamental cause.

I am honored to join the board of Neighbors Helping Neighbors, a group I discovered through Facebook that has profoundly impacted our community. Meeting with Bob Massey opened my eyes to the immense needs being addressed by NHN—from supporting individuals with disabilities to providing basic necessities for families and single parents. I am eager to lend my efforts to this dedicated team, knowing together we can continue to make a meaningful difference.

“What drew me to Neighbors Helping Neighbors was the opportunity to make a direct and tangible difference in someone’s life. I believe quality of life is closely tied to the comfort, safety, and stability of one’s environment — and that individuals and families thrive when they have the right conditions in place. I’m proud of the role NHN plays, in concert with our members and community partners, to restore dignity and hope for our neighbors in need. Our work isn’t just about repairs or resources — it’s about creating a true sense of belonging. We’re building a community where people care deeply, show up for one another, and believe in their power to make a difference. And as a result, our recipients feel seen, supported, and better equipped to pursue their dreams. It’s an honor to lead NHN forward as we grow our impact, touch lives, and contribute to a stronger, more connected community. ”
